Are you looking for support as you navigate life’s many transitions?

Ali Shockey, LMSW (they/she)

Rural life in upstate New York is full of beauty, but it can also feel lonely—especially for young people and families trying to find support, understanding, and spaces where they feel seen.

Hi! I’m Ali. I’m a non-binary therapist and an interdisciplinary artist working with children, adolescents, families, and LGBTQ+ communities in rural upstate New York.

I work through Wellspring Therapy and the Delaware County Behavioral Health Clinic in Walton, with in-person sessions in Delhi and virtual availability. Alongside my clinical work, I’m developing a queer ecology project supported by the Roxbury Arts Group, exploring connection to place, identity, and the natural world through creative and community-based work.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in nature-based art education with young people in New York City. That work, along with my graduate research and my lived experience as a queer person, shaped how I understand healing: as something that happens in relationship—with ourselves, with others, and with the places we live.

I often work with young people and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and relational challenges. I take a warm, grounded approach that balances structure with openness. I draw from trauma-focused CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches, with an emphasis on slowing things down enough to notice patterns, emotions, and the ways we learn to relate to ourselves and one another.
